Forging equipment uses compressive force to shape metal parts. Products include drop hammers, counterblow machines, roll forming equipment, upsetting equipment, and machines for cold forging, hot forging, warm forging, and radial forging. Learn More
In the forging process, metal is shaped by pressing, pounding, or squeezing under very high pressure, to form parts called forgings. Forging processes include cold forging or heading, impression or closed die, open die, and seamless rolled ring. Search by Specification | Learn More
Hot forming machines form metal that has been preheated. Cold forming machines form metal that has not been preheated. Learn More
Hot melt adhesives are solvent-free chemical compounds that are used to join materials. They can be repeatedly softened by heat and hardened or set by cooling, allowing parts to be removed or repositioned during assembly. Search by Specification | Learn More
Hot stamping foils or films are used to emboss a metallic or colored finish onto a surface, usually through a thermal bonding or hot stamping process. Learn More
Hot runner controllers are specialized temperature controllers that keep specialized injection-mold components at the design temperature in order to keep the plastic flowing. Learn More
Cold and hot isostatic pressing services apply high pressures and/or temperature to form near net shapes, densify parts, diffusion bond materials, remove internal porosity and improve the integrity of engineering components. Search by Specification | Learn More
Hot mirrors and cold mirrors are dichroic filters that have a sharp transition between rejecting and transmitting at the near-infrared-visible area of the spectrum. Search by Specification | Learn More
Hot plates are used for heating samples and are used as an alternative to a Bunsen burner when an open flame would be dangerous. Hot plate stirrers are used to mix samples, with or without the application of heat. Search by Specification | Learn More
Marking stamps and marking type include hot stamps and metal stamps are used to leave an impression on a target object. Rubber stamps are used to mark items with ink. Learn More
Isostatic presses are used for compressing powdered materials into shaped pre-forms or general products. There are two main types of isostatic presses; cold isostatic presses (CIP) that function at room temperature and hot isostatic presses (HIP) that function at elevated temperatures. Search by Specification | Learn More
...overall length, and overall thickness are important dimensions. Most materials are cast, wrought, extruded, forged, cold-finished, hot-rolled, or formed by compacting powdered metals or alloys. Some carbon steels and alloy steels are modified with boron... Search by Specification | Learn More
...and specialty stainless steels and iron superalloys. Tool steels are wear resistant, but difficult to fabricate in their hardened form. Specific grades are available for cold-working, hot-working, and high speed applications. Cast iron is a ferrous... Search by Specification | Learn More
Plastic welders consist of torches, ultrasonic welding equipment, heat guns, hot rod welders, RF or dielectric welders, and hot plate welders used to join thermoplastic materials. Search by Specification | Learn More

TITANIUM, with its extraordinary combination of great strength and light weight, is an "alloy of the future" and an important part of APPÕs business today. APP has been producing titanium forgings since 1975 primarily for the aerospace market. We forge a variety of alloys, including Ti 10V-2Fe-3Al, Ti 6Al-4V and others, in sizes up to 150 square inches Plan View Area (PVA). (read more)
Open Die Forgings, also known as "Hand Forgings" or "Forged Block," are manufactured in flat dies, eliminating the requirement for nonrecurring tooling. They are characterized by specific grain directions (ST - Short Traverse; LT - Long Traverse; and L - Longitudinal), and are produced in many shapes, from the classic "block" configurations to bent, stepped, or curved shapes. (read more)
Precision forgings are characterized by 0 to 1 degree draft angles, thin sections, close tolerances, small radii, and excellent surface finishes. The advantages of precision forging over other methods of manufacturing include optimum grain structure and fatigue life, superior stress and intergranular corrosion resistance, and economic net and near-net configurations. (read more)
Aluminum Precision Products (APP) has established itself as an international leader in closed and open die forgings of aluminum and titanium alloys. With capabilities that extend from initial design to final assembly, APP is an important presence in the world markets for wrought non-ferrous products. (read more)
