Low alloy steel, carbon, nickel, molybdenum. A multi-purpose, economical material that offers various strength, hardness, and wear resistance properties depending if it is heat treated and the heat treat process used. (read more)
Martensitic stainless steel. Excellent strength, hardness, and wear resistance while offering some corrosion resistance. Magnetic. Often used for automotive, cutlery, industrial equipment, power hand tools, pumps, sporting equipment industry, surgical instruments, valves, and applications where very high strength, hardness, and wear resistance, and some corrosion resistance is required. Austenitic stainless steel. Excellent corrosion resistance. Non-megnetic. Lower cost, elongation, and ductility than "premium" grade. Often used for food industry, marine, medical, and applications where corrosion resistance is of higher importance over that of strength or wear resistance. (read more)
Martensitic stainless steel. Very good strength, hardness, and wear resistance while offering some corrosion resistance. Magnetic. Higher hardness typical with oil quench over that of vacuum heat treat. (read more)
