Size Capabilities

   Diameter

Enter the diameter capability of the tube or part fabrication process.

Search Logic:      User may specify either, both, or neither of the "At Least" and "No More Than" values. Products returned as matches will meet all specified criteria.
Material Capabilities

   Your choices are...

   Aluminum

Aluminum is a bluish, silver-white, malleable, ductile, light-weight, trivalent metallic element that provides good electrical and thermal conductivity, high reflectivity, and resistance to oxidation.

   Copper, Brass or Bronze Alloy

Copper and copper alloys are non-ferrous metals with excellent electrical and thermal conductivity as well as good corrosion resistance, ductility and strength. Copper alloys are relatively easy to fabricate by forming, casting or machining. Pure copper is more difficult to weld, cast or machine. Brass, tin bronze, leaded brass, beryllium copper and zirconium copper are examples of copper alloys. Copper is also useful as an alloying element in aluminum alloys and powder metal based iron alloys.  Copper is a versatile metal with applications in many industrial and commercial segments. Copper's high electrical conductivity (100% IACS) make it extremely useful in electrical and electronic applications.

   Steel - Carbon & Alloy

General-purpose carbon steel and mild steel or steel alloys contain chrome, nickel, molybdenum, vanadium or other elements to alter hardenability characteristics, toughness, hardness, corrosion resistance, and/or strength. Typically, "black pipe" is made of carbon steel.

   Steel - Stainless

Stainless steel is chemical and corrosion resistant and has relatively high pressure ratings. This selection includes all grades of stainless steel.

   Nickel / Nickel Alloy

Nickel and nickel alloys are non-ferrous metals with high strength and toughness, excellent corrosion resistance, and superior elevated temperature properties. Nickel can also be magnetized. Nickel's properties result in the use of nickel alloys in jet engine super-alloy components, corrosion resistant chemical process equipment (valves, piping, and pumps), magnets and electrical resistance alloys, and heating elements. Nickel is also a useful alloying element in stainless, tool, maraging and other alloy steels.

   Titanium

Commercially pure (CP) titanium provides excellent corrosion resistance and is an important choice for some chemical processing applications. Typically, CP titanium provides better corrosion resistance and formability, but lower strength than alpha-beta titanium alloys such as Ti-6Al-4V.

   Specialty/Other

Other unlisted, proprietary or specialized material capabilities.

Search Logic:      All products with ANY of the selected attributes will be returned as matches. Leaving all boxes unchecked will not limit the search criteria for this question; products with all attribute options will be returned as matches.
Secondary Manufacturing Capabilities

   Your choices are...

   Annealing / Heat Treating

Annealing is a heating and cooling operation, usually with a slow cooling cycle. Annealing may be used to remove stresses, induce softness, and alter ductility, toughness, electrical, magnetic, or other properties.

   Buffing / Polishing

Polishing, buffing, and belting processes are metal smoothing operations that change the surface appearance of a metal. These operations can be for aesthetic and/or functional purposes.

   Cut to Length

Companies can cut roll-formed materials to customer-specified lengths.

   End Forming

Companies produce forms on the ends of tubes. Examples include chamfers, flanges, end reduction, end expansion, doming or rounding, beading, and flaring.

   End Flattening

Companies either flatten or bend and flatten the ends of tubes.  Many flattening variations can be obtained.

   Machining

Companies have machining capabilities. Machining is the removal of material through milling, turning, drilling, and other processes.

   Painting / Powder Coating

Companies apply paint to provide a protective and/or decorative coating. Powder coating is a finishing technology in which dry paint particles are electrostatically charged and applied to a smooth surface. Electrostatic attraction holds powder particles on the part surface until heat is added to flow the powder together and cure it. Parts must be electrically conductive. Although powder coating is most widely used on metal parts, recent technological developments have broadened the type of substrates to include glass, special plastics and wood.

   Plating / Coating

Companies apply plating or coating to the surface of tubes and parts. Examples of plating and coating options include anodizing, galvanizing, zinc plating, copper plating, and nickel plating.

   Slotting & Notching

Companies produce slots or notches in tubes and parts.

   Piercing & Punching

Companies punch or pierce holes in tubes. The two main styles are dimple hole punching and mandrel hole punching. In dimple punching, a dimple is created in the tube during the punching operation. In mandrel punching, a mandrel is placed in the tube during punching to prevent the diameter geometry from being altered.

   Swaging

Swaging forms tubes through a rapid series of hammer blows.  It can be used to point, size, reduce, shape, taper, bond or form metal parts through hot or cold processes. Swaging is economical, does produce any chips, improves grain structure and produces a fine finish.

   Telescopic Tube

Companies produce telescoping tubes, usually with a spring locking pin or other locking mechanism.

   Welding / Brazing

Companies perform welding or brazing operations.

   Other

     Other unlisted secondary manufacturing capabilities.

Search Logic:      All products with ANY of the selected attributes will be returned as matches. Leaving all boxes unchecked will not limit the search criteria for this question; products with all attribute options will be returned as matches.

   ISO 14001

ISO 14000 provides an internationally recognized framework for environmental management, measurement, evaluation and auditing. It does not prescribe environmental performance targets, but instead provides organizations with tools for assessing and controlling the impact of activities, products or services on the environment. These standards are designed to be flexible enough to be used by any organization of any size and in any field. They address the following subjects: environmental management systems, environmental auditing, environmental labels and declarations, environmental performance evaluation, and life cycle assessment.
